Starting at $139.95, AutoBuffy stocks 1 fuel tank sending unit and fuel filter assemblies from URO. This combined unit mounts inside the fuel tank and does two jobs: the sending unit reports fuel level to your gauge, while the integrated filter screens debris before it reaches the injectors. When either component fails on a Bmw 325I, you risk inaccurate fuel readings, clogged injectors, and a stalling engine.
Because the sending unit and filter ship as one pre-assembled module, the biggest decision is whether to match OE specification or step up to a higher-flow or upgraded unit. Fit, float arm travel, and filter micron rating must all match your Bmw 325I's tank geometry and fuel system pressure requirements. Review your existing module's connector type and float range before ordering.
| Option | Best for | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| OE-Replacement (Direct Fit) | Daily drivers needing a reliable, no-hassle swap | Float arm, sending unit resistance range, and filter micron rating that match factory spec; plug-and-play fitment |
| OEM or OEM-Equivalent (Brand-Name OE Supplier) | Owners who want the same supplier that built the original part | Factory-level materials, tighter tolerances, and longer service life; typically priced higher than economy options |
| Economy / Value Grade | High-mileage vehicles or budget-conscious repairs where longevity is secondary | Functional direct-fit unit at the lowest cost; quality control and longevity may vary by brand |
| Performance / High-Flow | Modified engines, flex-fuel conversions, or vehicles with upgraded injectors that demand higher fuel volume | Lower-restriction filter media and upgraded float hardware; confirm resistance range still matches your gauge or a separate sender may be needed |
The module is accessed either through a service panel under the rear seat or cargo floor, or by lowering the fuel tank from underneath the Bmw 325I — check which method applies before starting. Once exposed, the lock ring is unthreaded counterclockwise using a spanner tool, and the old module is lifted straight out with care not to bend the float arm. Transfer any reusable components if required, seat the new assembly with a fresh O-ring, torque the lock ring to specification per the new unit's instructions, and reconnect the electrical harness and fuel lines before testing.
