The system must be fully recovered before any fittings are opened — do not release refrigerant to atmosphere. Once the low-pressure line is disconnected at the evaporator inlet, the orifice tube is extracted with a dedicated removal tool or carefully with needle-nose pliers, taking care not to break the body inside the tube. After installing the new tube with a light coat of refrigerant oil on the O-rings, the system is evacuated, leak-tested, and recharged to the manufacturer's specified capacity before testing cooling output.
