Why AP Exhaust

AP Exhaust (AP Emissions Technologies) has been building exhaust and emissions-control parts since 1927, making it one of the oldest names in the North American aftermarket. From its Goldsboro, North Carolina headquarters, AP engineers direct-fit and universal catalytic converters certified to federal EPA and California CARB standards, plus mufflers, pre-bent pipes, manifolds and DuraFit diesel DPF/DOC components. Now part of Marmon Holdings, a Berkshire Hathaway company, AP backs EPA converters with a 5-year/50,000-mile warranty and stands behind mufflers and pipes against out-of-box defects — professional-grade emissions hardware trusted by installers across the U.S.

Who makes AP Exhaust parts?
AP Exhaust parts are made by AP Emissions Technologies, LLC, a vertically integrated U.S. manufacturer headquartered in Goldsboro, North Carolina, with plants in Indiana and Pennsylvania. Since January 2023 the company has been part of Marmon Holdings, a Berkshire Hathaway company.
What warranty do AP Exhaust catalytic converters have?
Federal/EPA catalytic converters are warranted to be free of defects and to meet EPA emission requirements for 5 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. CARB-compliant converters are warranted to meet California ARB requirements for 50,000 miles, with the stainless-steel body and nipples covered for 5 years/50,000 miles.
Are AP Exhaust mufflers and pipes covered by a warranty?
Yes. Mufflers, exhaust pipes and accessories that do not contain a catalytic converter are warranted to be free from out-of-box material and manufacturing defects, with repair, replacement or refund as the remedy. The warranty does not cover improper installation, abuse, or commercial/race use.
Are AP Exhaust converters legal in my state?
AP builds both federal EPA converters (49-state) and CARB-compliant converters for California and CARB-adopting states. Always match the converter's certification (EPA or CARB) to your state's requirements and your vehicle's emissions family before ordering.
What does AP Exhaust specialize in?
AP specializes in emissions and exhaust: direct-fit and universal catalytic converters, exhaust manifolds, mufflers (Challenge, MSL Maximum, Enforcer II lines), pre-bent pipes, tubing and hardware. Its brand family also includes CATCO, Eastern Catalytic, Cherry Bomb, ANSA and DuraFit diesel emissions products.
