Who makes Cloyes timing components?
Cloyes Gear & Products, Inc., founded in 1921 and headquartered in Fort Smith, Arkansas, designs, manufactures and distributes timing drive systems globally. Cloyes supplies OE manufacturers as well as the aftermarket, and has been owned by MidOcean Partners since February 2022.
What warranty do Cloyes parts carry?
Standard Cloyes products carry a Limited Lifetime Warranty to the original retail purchaser - covered against defects in material and workmanship for as long as you own the vehicle the part was installed in. Hi-Performance products are excluded, as are altered or improperly installed parts.
Are Cloyes timing kits OE quality?
Yes - Cloyes is an OE timing-drive supplier, and its aftermarket kits use the same engineering, materials and manufacturing standards. Complete kits include matched chains, sprockets, tensioners and guides so the entire timing system is renewed together.
What does Cloyes specialize in?
Timing drive systems exclusively: timing chains, sprockets, gears, tensioners, guides, VVT phasers and solenoids, complete timing chain kits, plus accessory-drive and heavy-duty product lines. It's mission-critical engine hardware, which is why Cloyes runs its own dynamic engine test lab.
Why replace the whole timing kit instead of just the chain?
A stretched chain wears its sprockets, tensioner and guides together; reusing old components lets the new chain wear prematurely and can trigger timing codes or failure. Cloyes engineers complete kits so every wear part in the timing system is replaced as a matched set.
