This is a bare strut cartridge only — it does not include the coil spring, upper strut mount, or bearing plate. You will need to reuse or separately purchase those components. If you want everything pre-assembled, look for a Loaded Strut Assembly instead.

You will need a spring compressor to safely remove the coil spring from your old strut and transfer it onto this new one. A strut nut socket (also called a strut rod socket) is required to remove the shaft nut. Basic hand tools and a torque wrench are also needed. A spring compressor is the critical safety item — do not attempt this without one.

Inspect the spring closely for cracks at the coils and check the bearing plate for rough rotation or worn rubber. If either is worn, replace them while you have the strut apart — labor costs the same either way.
